Arte Fiera Bologna launches free digital project PLAYLIST for January 2021

digital · 2026-04-27

Arte Fiera Bologna has launched PLAYLIST, a free digital cultural initiative accessible from January 21 to 24, 2021. These dates originally marked the in-person fair, which was canceled for the first time due to the pandemic, with the next edition rescheduled for January 2022. PLAYLIST is based on the concept of curated selection, akin to music playlists, and aggregates content about modern and contemporary art exhibitions from galleries that participated in Arte Fiera 2020, as well as conversations, films, and books on art, fashion, and design. Contributors include critics, curators, artists, a filmmaker, a writer, a children's publishing expert, and a fashion collector. The project comprises five sections: 'In mostra' (On display) with Stefano Arienti in collaboration with Istituzione Bologna Musei and MAMbo; 'In sala' (In the hall) with Fondazione Cineteca di Bologna; 'In libreria' (In the library) with Corraini Editore; 'In conversazione' (In conversation) with Flash Art; and 'In galleria' (In the gallery), a digital showcase for galleries to present their current exhibitions. Director Simone Menegoi explained that a virtual fair felt counterproductive due to format saturation, so they opted for a cultural project instead. The initiative aims to maintain ties with galleries and encourage the public to visit physical exhibitions, as Emilia-Romagna remains in the orange zone. Content is available at artefiera.it.
