Arte Fiera Bologna Cancelled for 2021, Rescheduled to 2022

Arte Fiera Bologna, originally scheduled for January 2021, has been cancelled due to Italy's COVID-19 restrictions. The decision follows the government's November 3 decree banning all trade fairs nationwide at least through December. Organizers cited uncertainty and inability to maintain quality standards. BolognaFiere will fully refund all fees paid by exhibitors for the 2021 edition. The fair is rescheduled for January 21-23, 2022. Meanwhile, the city of Bologna plans to proceed with an ART CITY week, separate from the fair, featuring exhibitions and events. The art week will be organized by Istituzione Bologna Musei and the Department of Culture of the Municipality of Bologna, under the artistic direction of Lorenzo Balbi. Dates will depend on the pandemic's evolution, likely moving from late January to spring. Planned events include a solo show by Aldo Giannotti at MAMbo, selected through the Italian Council program. The cancellation follows the earlier postponement of ArtVerona, originally set for December 2020. BRAFA in Brussels has already shifted to a home edition.
