Arte e collezionismo a Roma: antiquariato torna a Palazzo Brancaccio dopo 20 anni
After a twenty-year hiatus, the Associazione Antiquari d'Italia is reviving the major antiques fair 'Arte e collezionismo a Roma' at Palazzo Brancaccio. Running from September 30 to October 2, 2023, with preview days on September 28–29, the event brings together 46 exhibitors from Italian cities including Rome, Milan, Florence, Bologna, and Naples, as well as London and New York. Under the patronage of the Ministero della Cultura and with support from public and private institutions, the fair aims to establish a permanent high-profile art and antiques appointment in the capital. The exhibition spans two millennia of art history, featuring painting, sculpture, and decorative arts—from archaeological pieces to works by Giovanni Boldini, Giorgio Morandi, Simon Vouet, and Gio Ponti. A dense program of collateral events will cover art market trends, regulations, and professional trades. The venue, Palazzo Brancaccio, built in 1880 by architect Gaetano Koch for the Brancaccio princes, is located near the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore.
