ArtDate 2020 in Bergamo explores 'The Gift' with 30+ events

The tenth edition of ArtDate, organized by The Blank Contemporary Art, will take place in Bergamo from November 12 to 15, 2020, under the title 'Il dono|The Gift'. The festival reflects on solidarity, relationships, and human exchange, drawing on anthropologist Marcel Mauss's studies on reciprocity. Over 30 events are divided into six sections: SHOW TIME, TALK, COLLEZIONI e DIMORE, STUDIO VISIT, KIDS. All events are free, conceived as a gift to the community after Bergamo's central role in the health emergency. A major group exhibition, 'Il Dono. Sulla vita e la morte', curated by Stefano Raimondi, opens November 13 at Palazzo della Ragione. On November 14, a show curated by Ed Atkins, 'The Act of Seeing With One’s Own Eyes', opens at Ex Ateneo in Città Alta, featuring works by Stan Brakhage and David Kamp. The opening on November 12 is led by journalist Massimo Fini. Other highlights include GALLERIES TIME, a collective opening of city galleries, and a talk on sign language and performative practices linked to the inclusive THE BLANK LISten PROJECT, which provides guided tours in Italian Sign Language.
