ArtDate 2019: Bergamo's Contemporary Art Festival Returns with 100+ Artists

The ninth edition of ArtDate, a contemporary art festival organized by The Blank, will take place in Bergamo from November 14 to 17, 2019. The festival features 35 events and over 100 artists under the theme 'Essere Parte / Being Part Of,' exploring sharing from the human body to the social and political body. The program includes six sections: SHOW TIME, TALK, COLLEZIONI e DIMORE, STUDIO VISIT, and new additions KIDS and ARTERASMUS, dedicated to children and international students. A conference on accessibility for deaf audiences will be held on November 15 at Sala Curò, and a talk between Massimo Minini and Mauro Zanchi on ancient and contemporary art will take place at BACO. A performance by Nora Turato, 'I’m Happy to own my implicit biase,' curated by Maria Marzia Minelli and Claudia Santeroni, will be staged at Palazzo Moroni. The exhibition 'Il Corpo Insensato,' curated by Stefano Raimondi, opens November 14 at Palazzo della Ragione, featuring works by 21 artists including Vanessa Beecroft, Joseph Beuys, Maurizio Cattelan, Anish Kapoor, Cindy Sherman, and Bill Viola, reflecting on the evolving perception of the body in society. Partnerships include GAMeC, Accademia Carrara, Museo BeGo, Castello di Rivoli, MAMbo, Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, and Tate Modern.
