Artcurial's street style auction rakes in €850,681 with Supreme trunk as top lot

market-auction · 2026-05-04

On May 16, 2018, Artcurial held its first auction entirely dedicated to street style, titled C.R.E.A.M. – Cash Rules Everything Around Me, at its Paris venue on Avenue Montaigne. The sale featured 135 lots, including Supreme-branded T-shirts, skateboards, a white Fender guitar (€5,200), a 2016 Everlast boxing bag with Supreme logo (€20,151), and two Louis Vuitton x Supreme trunks from 2017. The top lot was one of those trunks, which sold for €88,400 after intense bidding, far exceeding its €70,000 estimate. The second trunk and skateboard fetched over €62,000. Overall, 94% of lots sold, totaling €850,681 (approximately $1 million). The auction attracted a crowd of 99% hipsters, mostly French with some Chinese and American attendees. Fabien Naudan, vice president of Artcurial, spent three years assembling the collection and described the event as a milestone for the house, noting it reflects changing perceptions of value in the current market. Artcurial plans to hold similar auctions in other cities. The sale was organized around Supreme, the New York skate brand known for its cherry-red logo and limited-edition strategy, which has cultivated a hysterical following over the past 20 years. The auction's success contrasts with the $832 million Rockefeller sale at Christie's the previous week, but Naudan emphasized that CREAM was not solely about money.
