Art4ART: Art and Medicine Merge at Rome's Gemelli Hospital Oncology Ward

Art4ART has been introduced at the Gemelli Hospital in Rome, merging art with oncology treatment. This initiative, created by the Gemelli ART center in collaboration with the Attilio Romanini association, employs immersive environments, multimedia art, concerts, and renowned historical works to help reduce pain and anxiety in patients, backed by scientific research. Minister Dario Franceschini commended the program for offering beauty to those in care. Professor Vincenzo Valentini emphasized its emotional engagement to enhance patient outcomes. The project includes a digital therapy platform utilizing AI for tailored care and patient connections. Collaborators such as the Vatican Museums contributed images of 100 masterpieces, with support from Cristiana Pegoraro, Fondazione Orchestra e Coro Sinfonico di Milano 'G. Verdi', Corrado Augias, Sandro Veronesi, and others. Various donations have supported the initiative.
