ART021 Shanghai 2025 Draws Global Galleries Amid Shifting Collector Demographics

The 13th ART021 Shanghai Contemporary Art Fair was held at the Shanghai Exhibition Center from November 13 to 16, 2025, featuring 141 galleries hailing from 50 cities in 22 different countries. Cc Foundation exhibited Félix Gonzalez-Torres's 'Untitled' (Loverboy) (1989). Celebrating a decade at the fair, David Zwirner presented works by both Huma Bhabha and Gonzalez-Torres. The DETOUR sector focused on galleries from Southeast Asia and the Middle East, including Jakarta's ROH and Dubai's Lawrie Shabibi. According to the 2025 Art Basel & UBS Survey, mainland Chinese collectors, particularly women, had the highest expenditure. Emerging artists were highlighted, with BANK gallery displaying Wenjue and Antenna Space featuring Tan Jing's installation. This event coincided with the 15th Shanghai Biennale and West Bund Art & Design fair.
