Art Tour to Vietnam and Cambodia: Contemporary Art Scenes in Hanoi, Saigon, and Siem Reap
In February 2020, a cultural tour to Vietnam and Cambodia was organized by Sala 1 gallery in Rome, with Mary Angela Schroth at the helm, focusing on contemporary art. The participants were greeted in Hanoi by Italian Ambassador Antonio Alessandro and Paola Belfiore, and attended a group exhibition curated by Massimo Scaringella. Notable visits included the Vincom Center for Contemporary Art, showcasing 'Toa Folliage III' curated by Misuki Endo, as well as the National Museum of Fine Arts, DOCLAB, Nha San Studio, and the Museum of Ethnography. In Hue, they engaged with Le Brothers at the New Space Arts Foundation, and in Ho Chi Minh City, they toured the War Remnants Museum and various contemporary spaces. Their journey in Cambodia took them to Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, culminating at the Angkor Wat, Bayon, and Ta Prohm temples.
