Art Sweet Art Brings Artists into Private Homes in Umbria and Tuscany

digital · 2026-05-05

Art Sweet Art, a novel initiative for artist residencies within private residences, debuted at the Fabbrica Europa festival in Florence. This concept was developed by Laura Caruso and Saverio Verini. The inaugural residency occurred on March 5 at the Francini family's kitchen in Arezzo, showcasing artist Francesco Ciavaglioli and his piece Vita Quieta. Presently, the platform features 12 artists, including Francesco Capponi (1976), Lorenzo Cianchi (1985), and Federica Gonnelli (1981), among others. Artists collaborate with hosts to determine the nature of their work, with artists residing in the host's home. The project aims to grow across Italy, starting with six municipalities in the Valtiberina area. A prominent cosmetics brand backs the initiative, which seeks to create a community-focused museum experience.
