Art Studio Finestreria Opens on Milan's Naviglio Pavese
Art Studio Finestreria, a new independent space for contemporary art and culture, has opened on the Naviglio Pavese in Milan. Founded by Claudia Ponzi, who has an artistic background from IUAV Venice and NABA Milan, the space aims to promote contemporary research in an intimate setting. The project originated online in 2020 during the pandemic, collaborating with artist Adriana Amoruso on a call for works centered on the window as a symbol of freedom. The physical space, formerly an auto radio workshop and later an engineering studio, retains the name. The latest exhibition, "Clematis Vitalba," featured Giammarco Cugusi (born 1991, Bergamo), exploring psychological discomfort through natural metaphors. Upcoming events include a focus on Alessandra La Marca starting February 23, with studio visits on February 24-25, followed by a solo show of painter Lara Ilaria Braconi from March 16. Ponzi emphasizes the concept of window and boundary between intimate and public space, wanting visitors to feel at home. She describes her role as an hybrid between artist and gallerist, open to collaborations with other Milanese realities, such as gallery Lorenzo Vatalaro. A call for video artists is open for future screenings, and plans include educational activities. The space is located at Via Ascanio Sforza 9, Milan.
