ART SG inaugural fair postponed to 2020 after MCH Group withdrawal and new backing from Magnus Renfrew

festival-fair · 2026-04-20

The ART SG fair has had its launch pushed back from November 2019 to fall 2020 because of organizational changes. It was first announced in July 2018, thanks to a partnership between the MCH Group, Sandy Angus of Angus Montgomery Arts, and Tim Etchells. However, MCH pulled out in November 2018, citing the need to stabilize and plans to exit other events like India Art Fair and Art Düsseldorf. Magnus Renfrew, who co-owns Taipei Dangdai and leads the consultancy ARTHQ Group, is now helping out. He mentioned that galleries preferred the postponement for more prep time. Applications are still being accepted for the new dates, October 30 to November 1, 2020, at Marina Bay Sands, following the 2019 cancellation of Art Stage Singapore.
