Art-Rite's Post-Pandemic Auction Strategy: Virtual Tours and July Sales

Milanese auction house Art-Rite, led by Attilio Meoli, adapted to the pandemic by implementing smart working and maintaining client contact through three successful auctions (two Modern and Contemporary Art, one Jewelry and Watches). Collectors embraced online bidding, and the house plans a July 21 auction of contemporary art with a new format, 4-U new, featuring works by Maurizio Cattelan (Fermaporta and a punishment sheet), Sisley Xhafa (Natural born beatles), Kcho (La columna infinita #4), and photography by Nicolas Sinclair, Pia Stadbaumer, Sissi, Mary-Jo Lafontaine, Jonathan Meese, Richard Kern, and Izima Kaoru. A second auction of Modern and Contemporary Art follows on July 23. Art-Rite has launched a Virtual Tour service for viewings. Despite an inevitable economic slowdown, recent results (a Peter Beard Polaroid sold for €12,325, a Salvo oil for €38,190, a Giacomo Balla work for €64,610) show collector vigilance. The house sees technology (VR, AR, blockchain) as key to expanding the collector base, though physical experience remains irreplaceable.
