Art-Rite kicks off 2023 auction season with contemporary art sale in Milan

Art-Rite's first auction of 2023, titled 4-U New, will take place on February 9 at Palazzo Largo Augusto in Milan, featuring 140 lots of contemporary and ultra-contemporary art. The sale highlights recent artistic research from Italian and international scenes, spanning installations, sculpture, photography, and collage from the last 25-30 years. Top lots include Liu Ding's "Jungle" (estimate €30,000-60,000), an installation reflecting Chinese popular decorative style; Pietro Roccasalva's "Jockey full of Bourbon" (estimate €10,000-20,000), previously exhibited at MoMA PS1 in 2008; and Francis Alÿs's "Closed Circuit" (estimate €8,000-12,000), a certificate of authenticity to recreate the installation. Italian artists Grazia Toderi ("Semper eadem," 2004, estimate €10,000-15,000) and Paola Pivi ("Leoni," 1998, estimate €5,000-7,000) are also featured. Patrick Tuttofuoco's "Velodream (Mattia)" (estimate €3,000-6,000) and Adrian Paci's "Tell me the truth" (estimate €2,000-4,000) represent Italian contemporary research. Dutch artist Lily van der Stokker has three works in the catalog, including "Easy fun (design for wallpaper and couch)" (estimate €2,000-4,000), recently shown at Kaufmann Repetto gallery in Milan.
