Art-Rite auction features Schulz, Manara, Zerocalcare comic art
On March 15, Art-Rite will hold its annual Comic Art & Legendary Heroes auction in Milan, offering 148 lots of original comic art, drawings, and collectibles. The sale includes a Charles M. Schulz Peanuts strip from January 10, 1957, estimated at €8,000–16,000. Italian artists featured include Zerocalcare with a page from his 2013 work Dodici (€800–1,200), Sergio Toppi with Vienna 1683 (€2,500–3,500), Massimo Carnevale with a 2014 Dylan Dog drawing (€2,000), and Milo Manara with Gli occhi di Pandora (€4,000). Movie props include a 1/1 scale replica of Batman's broken mask from The Dark Knight Rises (€400–800). The auction reflects growing collector interest in comic art, spurred by recent museum exhibitions such as the 2021 Uffizi show and Zerocalcare's retrospective at Fabbrica del Vapore in Milan, which runs until April 23. Lots can be viewed in person at Art-Rite's Milan offices or via a virtual tour.
