Art Paris 2025 Returns to Grand Palais with 170 Exhibitors
The 27th edition of Art Paris opened at the Grand Palais from April 3 to 6, 2025, featuring 170 exhibitors from 25 countries—34 more than the previous year. The fair is seen as a reclamation of a French art fair following the absorption of FIAC by Art Basel. 60% of galleries are French, 40% are international, and 36% are new participants. The theme 'Immortelle' focuses on figurative painting in France, curated by Amélie Adamo and Numa Hambursin (director of MO.CO. Montpellier Contemporain), who selected thirty artists to highlight the persistence of French figurative painting across generations. Highlights include: Wienerroither & Kohlbacher (Vienna) presenting Egon Schiele's 1913 drawing 'Seated Girl with Outstretched Arm and Leg'; Jeanne Bucher Jaeger (Paris/Lisbon) celebrating its centenary with eleven artists, notably Yang Jiechang's ten-panel silk work 'Tale of Eleventh Day – Red Autumn' (2014–2024); Les Filles du Calvaire (Paris) showing Thomas Lévy-Lasne's hyperrealist painting 'La plage d'Ostende'; Almine Rech (stand B7) presenting Claire Tabouret's first tapestry 'The Blue Sentinels', made in collaboration with the historic tapestry workshop Pinton (founded 1860); and Galerie Bacqueville (Hauts-de-France/Netherlands) exhibiting Aurélien Maillard's 'Impact', a wall relief depicting a shattered surface. The fair also features the HER ART prize for women artists, sponsored by Art Paris and Marie Claire.
