ART of the Treasure Hunt Brings Contemporary Art to Chianti Wineries

exhibition · 2026-05-05

Next weekend will see the launch of the second edition of ART of the Treasure Hunt, curated by Kasia Redzisz of Tate Liverpool and spearheaded by Luziah Hennessy. From July through October 2017, six wineries across Tuscany—including Colle Bereto and Castello di Brolio—will showcase contemporary artworks in picturesque locations such as parks and historic sites. Due to high humidity, however, pieces will not be displayed in cellars. Featured artists include Jannis Kounellis and Marina Abramović, alongside emerging talents from Brazil and Poland. Most sites are accessible to the public, with Villa di Geggiano operating by appointment only.
