Art Night Venezia 2024 Celebrates 700 Years Since Marco Polo's Death
On June 22, 2024, the 13th edition of Art Night Venezia will take place, featuring participation from over 145 institutions in a citywide celebration of art and culture. Organized by Università Ca' Foscari Venezia and Comune di Venezia, this event commemorates the 700th anniversary of Marco Polo's passing, emphasizing cultural exchanges between Venice and the East. The central exhibition, 'Uzbekistan: l’Avanguardia nel deserto,' hosted at Ca' Foscari, presents notable works from Tashkent and Nukus, including four pieces by Kandinskij. This year introduces the Sleepless Video Art Night, showcasing 30 new video artworks, with highlights such as Lena Herzog's 'Any War Any Enemy' and Carsten Höller's 'Venice Inclined.' Admission to Art Night is free and open to all.
