Art Jameel Commissions Open Call for Writing and Research Residency in Dubai
The Jameel Arts Centre in Dubai has announced an open call for its second Art Jameel Commissions program, which emphasizes arts writing and research. Applications are accepted until 1 December 2018 for a residency scheduled from September to December 2019. The initiative is aimed at art writers, curators, critics, art historians, and artists with a minimum of five years of experience related to the Middle East. Selected candidates are required to live in Dubai for three months. Art Jameel provides a monthly stipend of $2,000, housing, return airfare, visa expenses, and up to $3,000 for research. Proposals should consist of a 50-word summary, a 500-word brief, and additional materials, with preference given to themes such as Confluence, Museology, and the GCC. Submissions must be in English.
