Art Jakarta 2025 draws 38,000 visitors with strong Southeast Asian focus amid global economic challenges

The 15th edition of Art Jakarta 2025 occurred from October 3 to 5 at JIEXPO Kemayoran, featuring 75 galleries from 16 Asian nations. Approximately half of the galleries were Indonesian, with ROH presenting over 20 artists under the theme “Warna Ibu.” Notable works included Budi Santoso’s sculpture, Kei Imazu’s tableau, and Stella Zhong’s oil paintings. The newcomer ara contemporary showcased 21 Southeast Asian artists, such as Arlette Quỳnh-Anh Trần and Agan Harahap. Ipeh Nur’s video installation was part of the SPOT section. International participants included Ota Fine Arts, Sullivan+Strumpf, and Esther Schipper. The event drew around 38,000 visitors, maintaining last year's attendance despite prevailing political and economic challenges, reinforcing its importance as a regional art platform.
