Art Genève 2025 expands with 80 galleries, solo shows, and food-focused Sur-mesur platform

The 13th edition of Art Genève runs from 30 January to 2 February 2025 at Palexpo in Geneva, Switzerland, featuring 80 international galleries. A highlight is the special presentation Sur-mesur, curated by Nicolas Trembley, returning for its second year with six works exploring food and contemporary art. This includes Gordon Matta-Clark's 1971 documentary about FOOD, his New York restaurant, Paul McCarthy's 1974 video Heinz Ketchup/Sauce, and Jasmine Gregory's 2024 performance in a Zurich grocery store. The fair incorporates 30 solo exhibitions, with participants eligible for the Solo-F.P. Journe Prize, and showcases regional Swiss talent through collaborations with MASI Lugano and Musée des Beaux-Arts du Locle. Gallerie Christophe Person presents Cameroonian-born photographer Samuel Fosso, known for self-portraits like La Bourgeoise (1997), while Livie Gallery features Esther Mathis's metallic, minimalist installations. Educational programs include conferences with Engadin Art Talks and Verbier Art Summit, alongside the Prix Mobilière for young Swiss creatives. Guest presentations from Berlin, Brussels, and London expand the fair's global reach, offering insights into contemporary art through exhibitions and discussions.
