Art Gallery of Western Australia Deploys Humanoid Robot Guide Named Aggie
A 58cm tall humanoid robot named Aggie now serves as a gallery guide at the Art Gallery of Western Australia in Perth. Developed through a partnership between the Gallery and Perth-based robotic-technology company Smartbots, Aggie was launched in May. The robot walks, talks, sings, dances, and winks while leading tours. Monthly tours of the collection and children's art activity workshops with Aggie are available for booking. The robot joins the team of existing human guides known as 'Guru Guides'.
