Art France Berlin Showcases French Artists in German Capital

In autumn 2006, the event Art France Berlin took place across multiple venues in Berlin, running from September to December. It was part of a series of initiatives aimed at increasing the international visibility of French artists, following the discovery prior to the 2005 Venice Biennale that French artists, with few exceptions, had very limited exposure abroad. Earlier efforts included the spring 2006 exhibition La Force de l'Art in Paris and the September 2006 event Paris Calling in London. Art France Berlin brought together French artists in the German capital to address this lack of presence.
