Art+Feminism's 2015 Wikipedia Edit-a-thon Expands to 55 Locations
On March 7th from 11am to 5pm, Art+Feminism will host its second Wikipedia edit-a-thon, with the flagship event at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. This initiative responds to a Wikimedia Foundation survey showing under 10% of Wikipedia contributors are women, aiming to boost female editorship and enhance coverage of women and the arts. The campaign has grown significantly from last year's 31 locations to 55 satellite sites across 11 locations this year. In 2014, 600 participants created 100 new articles and improved over 90 existing ones on feminist thinkers and women in the arts. The event precedes International Women's Day on March 8. A full list of satellites is available at art.plusfeminism.org.
