Art Düsseldorf Reports Attendance Increase to 23,000 Visitors

The eighth edition of Art Düsseldorf attracted 23,000 visitors, surpassing last year's 20,000. Fair director Walter Gehlen expressed high satisfaction, noting the event exceeded all expectations and countered narratives of an art market crisis. 119 galleries participated, up from 108 in the previous year, presenting contemporary art amid challenging times. Gehlen emphasized that the fair's success stems from quality selection and close collaboration with galleries, with clear positions and trust making a difference. He highlighted the Rhine region's strong foundation, including collector families, institutions, and galleries, as a key advantage. Art Düsseldorf has solidified its role as a central hub for contemporary art in German-speaking areas, evolving consistently into a market reference point. The event took place at the Areal Böhler venue over a weekend.
