Art Dubai 2024 Announces Curators for Bawwaba, Modern, and Digital Sections
Art Dubai has announced its 17th edition, happening from March 1 to 3, 2024, with preview days on February 28 and 29. Emiliano Valdés, the chief curator at the Museum of Modern Art in Medellin, Colombia, will be in charge of the Bawwaba section. This area highlights solo showcases from Global South artists, featuring works created within the year leading up to the fair or specially commissioned for the event. The fifth iteration of Bawwaba will explore themes of healing on personal, social, and political levels. Furthermore, Dr. Christianna Bonin from the American University of Sharjah will curate Art Dubai Modern, focusing on mid-20th century artist collaborations. Auronda Scalera and Alfredo Cramerotti will helm the third edition of Art Dubai Digital, highlighting digital art and technology.
