Art D'Égypte to Stage First Contemporary Art Show at Giza Pyramids in 2021

Art D'Égypte, founded by Franco-Egyptian Nadine Abdel-Ghaffar, will present 'Forever Is Now' in October 2021, the first contemporary art exhibition on the Giza Plateau in its 4,500-year history. The show will juxtapose works by international and Egyptian artists against the Pyramids of Giza, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Chinese participation is emphasized, with Abdel-Ghaffar issuing an official invitation to Chinese artists and museums, citing China's ancient civilization and role in preserving art. The exhibition aims to promote Egyptian contemporary art and cultural tourism, continuing a cultural training program launched in October 2020 that involves local youth as guides and custodians, with free public lectures by UNESCO staff. Participating artists will be announced in 2021. The event is organized by Art D'Égypte, which has held annual exhibitions since 2017 to support emerging Egyptian artists and highlight the diversity of Egyptian art across centuries.
