Art critic Anne Dagbert dies at 73

Anne Dagbert, a French art critic and longtime collaborator of art press, died on February 20, 2016. She was a specialist in Narrative Art, writing about artists such as Didier Bay, Bill Beckley, and Jean Le Gac, to whom she devoted a book (Fall Édition). She also published monographs on Gérard Garouste (Fall Édition) and Marc Couturier (Éditions Ereme), and contributed to Artforum, Flash Art, Artstudio, and Ligeia. Dagbert served as secretary general of AICA France from 1991 to 1997 and wrote a history of the association. She was actively involved with La Source, an organization founded by Gérard Garouste to help children in social and academic difficulty. Her later work focused on the spiritual dimension of art and the relationship between art and the sacred, culminating in a collection of essays, Une espérance à travers la nuit (Archibook).
