Art Community Remembers Painter Jennifer Riley in New York Tributes and Exhibitions
This past summer, the New York Studio School held an event to honor the memory of the late artist Jennifer Riley. It saw the attendance of 21 artists, critics, and friends. The gathering was put together by editor David Cohen and featured prominent attendees like Katherine Bradford, Gaby Collins-Fernandez, Stephen Ellis, David Humphrey, and David Rhodes. Among the contributors were Joseph Masheck, David Brody, Alexander Ross, Marjorie Welish, and Raphael Rubinstein. Last year, Riley displayed her unique grid paintings in a solo show at Lori Bookstein Fine Art, exploring themes of serial risk, and also participated in two other exhibitions in New York. Notable shows currently running include Annie Leibovitz and Ron Mueck at the Brooklyn Museum.
