Art Brussels 2024: Surrealism Centenary and More in the Belgian Capital

From April 25 to 28, 2024, Art Brussels will mark its 40th edition, aligning with the 100th anniversary of Surrealism, which was established by André Breton. This artistic movement flourished in Belgium, featuring notable figures such as René Magritte and Paul Delvaux. Numerous exhibitions throughout Brussels will highlight Surrealism, including "IMAGINE! 100 Years of International Surrealism" at the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique, showcasing over 130 pieces until July 21. The Magritte Museum's "Magritte-Folon. The Dream Factory" and the Design Museum's "Olivetti-Folon" will also be on display until July 21 and September 15, respectively. Meanwhile, WIELS presents Oscar Murillo's "Masses" until April 28, and CENTRALE features Maren Dubnick's "Accumulator" until September 1. Bozar's "Histoire de ne pas rire" runs until June 16, and iMAL's "NaturArchy" will continue until September 29.
