Art Basel Miami Beach 2025 Returns with 283 Galleries and New Digital Art Initiative
From December 5 to 7, 2025, Art Basel Miami Beach will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, with Preview Days scheduled for December 3 and 4. Now in its 23rd edition, the event showcases 283 galleries, including 48 newcomers, and is spearheaded by Global Lead Partner UBS. Bridget Finn, the director, noted the intersection of culture and commerce, while Chief Artistic Officer Vincenzo de Bellis pointed out the diversity of American art. The fair features various sectors, such as Galleries, Positions, Nova, Survey, and the curated Meridians sector led by Yasmil Raymond, themed "The Shape of Time." A new digital art initiative, Zero 10, curated by Eli Scheinman and backed by OpenSea, will debut with 12 exhibitors and plans to expand to other Art Basel events in 2026. The inaugural Art Basel Awards, in collaboration with BOSS, will recognize 11 individuals and institutions, with the first Gold Awards presented on December 4. The Conversations program will kick off with a focus on art and sports, featuring athletes and daily Digital Dialogues. The fair will also emphasize Latinx, Indigenous, and diasporic practices, re-evaluating Modernism through a trans-hemispheric perspective.
