Art Basel Miami Beach faced significant disruptions in 2017 due to ongoing construction at the Miami Beach Convention Center, forcing the closure of one entrance and prompting the fair to offer discounts to affected galleries. In a rare move, the fair also executed a radical reshuffling of all booth locations, abandoning the traditional layout. Despite these challenges, the fair maintained high quality with an ultra-commercial approach, exemplified by White Cube's temporary space in the Miami Design District.
