Art Basel Hong Kong Returns with Hybrid Format in May 2021
From May 21 to 23, 2021, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will host Art Basel Hong Kong, with VIP previews taking place on May 19. This ninth edition adopts a hybrid format, integrating both physical attendance and digital experiences through Art Basel Live: Hong Kong. A total of 104 galleries from over 23 nations will be involved, with 56 utilizing satellite booths. The fair is divided into three sections: Galleries (86 exhibitors), Insights (10 galleries), and Discoveries (8 solo presentations). The Fine Art Asia Pavilion will feature antiques from before the 1940s. Collaborative stands include Meyer Riegger with Sies + Höke and a collective booth of eight Italian galleries. Director Adeline Ooi emphasized institutional support to enhance physical art interaction.
