Art Basel Hong Kong 2018: Five Works That Caught the Eye

ArtReview Asia highlighted the opening of Art Basel Hong Kong 2018, which presented some incredible artworks. At Chemould Prescott Road, Jitish Kallat showcased his 'Rain Study' series, where pencil sketches were altered by rain, influenced by the artist's breath. Taka Ishii Gallery featured 'Tokyo Story,' a group photography exhibition with contributions from renowned artists like Nobuyoshi Araki and Daido Moriyama. Kukje Gallery displayed two small paper works by Kwon Young-Woo, while Do Ho Suh’s 'Passage/s' at STPI used colorful threads to create architectural outlines on paper. Nature Morte presented Gauri Gill's 'Acts of Appearance,' focusing on the Adivasi community in Maharashtra, set to open at MoMA PS1 in April. In Discoveries, Ali Kazim exhibited watercolor scrolls and tiny cloud paintings at Jhaveri Contemporary.
