Art Basel Awards 2026 Nominees Include Jenny Holzer, Arthur Jafa, and Barbara Kruger

Art Basel has announced 33 nominees for its second Art Basel Awards cycle, recognizing influential figures across contemporary art and culture. The diverse list features artists Jenny Holzer, Arthur Jafa, and Barbara Kruger, alongside architect Kulapat Yantrasast and New Yorker writer Hilton Als. These medalists span nine categories encompassing artists, collectors, curators, institutions, and media personalities. The awards are presented in partnership with German fashion brand BOSS. All 33 nominees will be honored at Art Basel this June, with gold awardees revealed at Art Basel Miami Beach in December. Jury chair Vincenzo de Bellis noted the cohort reflects a globally interconnected art world through its geographic, disciplinary, and generational diversity. The selection highlights individuals shaping contemporary cultural discourse.
