Art Basel Awards 2026 Honors 33 Global Figures Across Art Ecosystem

The Art Basel Awards has revealed its 33 medalists for 2026, honoring those who are influencing the future of contemporary art. In collaboration with BOSS, the second edition features a varied group from countries including the U.S., Nigeria, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, France, Italy, UAE, Thailand, Cuba, South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Germany, Spain, the UK, and Bangladesh. Among the fifteen artists recognized are emerging talents Farah Al Qasimi and Precious Okoyomon, established figures Arthur Jafa and Julie Mehretu, along with iconic artists Barbara Kruger and Jenny Holzer. Additionally, eighteen medalists from various sectors, including institutions like SAVVY Contemporary, are acknowledged. The awards focus on lasting impact and engagement with global challenges, with celebrations set for Art Basel in Switzerland in June 2026.
