ART 2030 New York Lancia Durante l'Assemblea Generale dell'ONU
Le gallerie del Chelsea Art District hanno inaugurato la prima edizione di ART 2030 durante la 73ª sessione dell'Assemblea Generale dell'ONU a New York, dal 25 settembre al 1° ottobre 2018. Questa iniziativa no-profit mira a promuovere i 17 Obiettivi di Sviluppo Sostenibile (SDGs) dell'ONU delineati nell'Agenda 2030 attraverso varie attività, tra cui discussioni, orari di apertura prolungati delle gallerie e mostre che collegano l'arte alla sostenibilità globale. Artisti rinomati come Ai Weiwei, Anish Kapoor e Yoko Ono sono tra i suoi sostenitori. Gli eventi iniziano il 24 settembre con un dibattito sulla parità di genere con Mary Weatherford, Ulla Tørnæs, Cameron Saul e Hadeel Ibrahim, moderato da Johanna Burton. Il 26 settembre, Pace Gallery ospiterà una discussione sulla salute degli oceani con John Gerrard e Alex Groves. Il 27 settembre, David Zwirner presenterà una mostra di Wolfgang Tillmans incentrata su giustizia sociale e uguaglianza.
