Arscode: A Board Game Simulating the Contemporary Art World
Arscode, a new tabletop card game that simulates the contemporary art world, is set to launch. Created by Diego Santamaria, founder of Espoarte Contemporary Art Magazine, Villaggiodellacomunicazione, and Vanillaedizioni, the game features 144 cards divided into two types: artwork cards and action cards. Players act as collectors, competing to build the most valuable collection by acquiring artworks and navigating events and characters that influence gameplay. Each artwork card has a different Point Value (PV) based on its prestige. The game can be played in normal or advanced tournament mode with three levels of secondary objectives. Expansions, special cards, and deluxe editions are planned, and museums and cultural institutions are invited to collaborate. A crowdfunding campaign has been launched to support the project. Santamaria describes it as a cultural project to disseminate contemporary art and make its mechanisms accessible to a broader audience.
