Aron Demetz at Lavazza's Nuvola: Archaeology Meets Contemporary Art in Turin

exhibition · 2026-05-04

For the first time, the archaeological site at Nuvola Lavazza in Turin is showcasing contemporary art through a solo exhibition by Aron Demetz, a sculptor from South Tyrol, born in 1972 in Vipiteno. This event is part of the fifth edition of Art Site Fest, which is curated by Domenico Maria Papa and has grown to encompass 11 venues throughout Piedmont, featuring 40 artists. The Lavazza headquarters, which opened 18 months ago, sits on a necropolis where an early Christian basilica dating from the late 4th to 5th century AD was found. In collaboration with Galleria Doris Ghetta, the exhibition highlights Demetz's innovative takes on Val Gardena wood carving and will be available until March 5, 2020, with guided tours capped at 15 participants.
