Arnaud Labelle-Rojoux's 'Étant damnés' at Galerie Loevenbruck

exhibition · 2026-04-24

At Galerie Loevenbruck in Paris, Arnaud Labelle-Rojoux presents 'ÉTANT DAMNÉS. Un épisode de La Passion triste', an exhibition running until March 24, 2021. The show features 36 works from 2020, including the monstrous sculpture 'Foetus de footballeur adulte' (1.80 m tall, human face with Alien body) previously shown at Galerie Nadja Vilenne in Liège 15 years ago, and a 2005 polyurethane foam piece 'le Talisman' recalling Fischli & Weiss. A 38-minute video by Xavier Boussiron accompanies the display. The title references a performance from June 2014 at Palais des beaux-arts de Paris and another from winter 2012-13 at MAC Marseille honoring Édouard Levé. The exhibition's chaotic accumulation of paintings, drawings, and sculptures embodies the 'placard à tableaux' principle by Jacques Lizène. Concurrently, Labelle-Rojoux has several publications: Laurent Cauwet's Al Dante (with Les Presses du Réel) reissues 'Récits de la vie de Michelangelo Merisi, dit «Le Caravage»'; Les Pérégrines publishes 'DUCHAMP' in the 'Îcones' collection; and Mathieu Copeland's 216-page book on Allan Kaprow / Arnaud Labelle-Rojoux appears in Loevenbruck's 'En affinité(s)' series. On January 28, 2021, Labelle-Rojoux also published a tribune in Libération addressing accusations against Claude Lévèque, calling for legal action and educational reform on sexual majority and consent.
