festival-fair · 2026-05-05

The Armory Show has announced the appointment of Jarrett Gregory, associate curator at LACMA, and Eric Shiner, director of the Andy Warhol Museum, as curators for its 2016 edition. Gregory will oversee the Focus section, featuring around twenty solo shows, while Shiner will launch the new Platform section dedicated to large-scale installations and performances. The fair will take place at Pier 92 and 94. Other changes include merging The Armory Show and The Armory Show Modern into a single event covering the 20th and 21st centuries, with the modern section transforming into Insights, presenting solo shows, double solos, and thematic exhibitions. These moves aim to strengthen the fair's position amid competition from Frieze New York and TEFAF New York.
