Armani opens Palazzo Orsini to public for first time during Fuorisalone 2023

architecture-design · 2026-04-27

During Salone del Mobile 2023 (April 8–23), Giorgio Armani will open Palazzo Orsini to the public for the first time. The historic palace at via Borgonuovo 11, near Brera, will host Armani/Casa collection previews. Visitors can view precious furniture in frescoed halls of the piano nobile, which houses the Giorgio Armani Privé haute couture atelier, and an outdoor collection in the secret garden courtyard. Built in the late 17th century by the Secco-Borella family, the palace was named after the Orsini family who moved there in 1662. Later owned by the Spanish-origin princes Pio (later Falcò-Pio) until 1918, its neoclassical facade was designed by Luigi Clerichetti in the mid-19th century. The main courtyard features paired Tuscan columns and 17th-century porticoes; interiors were decorated by Luigi Canonica with frescoes by Andrea Appiani (Amore trionfante, 1787). Since September 18, 1996, the palace has been headquarters of Giorgio Armani S.p.A. It has occasionally opened for FAI spring/autumn days, Apritimoda, and Cortili Aperti. In 2017, its frescoes were recreated in Paris for the Mistero Haute Couture FW 17-18 collection.
