Il viaggio americano di Arman: Retrospettiva al Centre Pompidou
Dal 22 settembre 2010 al 10 gennaio 2011, il Centre Pompidou di Parigi presenta una retrospettiva di Arman (Armand Pierre Arman), con quasi 120 opere. Questa mostra evidenzia il suo percorso artistico caratterizzato da temi di accumulazione, distruzione, taglio e combustione. Considerato il più americano tra gli artisti francesi, Arman si trasferì a New York nel 1963 e divenne cittadino statunitense il 31 gennaio 1972. Nel 1962, David Galloway riflette sulla sua visita all'Albright-Knox Gallery, dove Seymour H. Knox acquistò 'Toccata and Fugue' di Arman. La prima mostra personale di Arman si tenne al Walker Art Center nel 1964, e creò sculture pubbliche in tutto il mondo, tra cui 'Ascent of the Blues' a Memphis nel 1987.
