Ari Emanuel's Mari Acquires ATG Entertainment in $6B Theater Deal
Mari, the live events company led by Ari Emanuel, has reached an agreement to purchase ATG Entertainment, a prominent owner of Broadway and West End theaters, from Providence Equity for approximately $6 billion. This acquisition, pending regulatory approval, will allow ATG to keep its brand and management team. As the third largest theater owner, ATG operates seven theaters and expanded its portfolio by acquiring a majority stake in Jujamcyn Theaters in 2023. With ownership of the Lyric Theatre and 10 West End venues, ATG manages a total of 70 locations worldwide. Emanuel highlighted the significance of live theater, while producer Sonia Friedman lauded the deal for its potential to nurture the industry and foster creativity. Providence Equity purchased ATG for around $500 million in 2013.
