Argillà Italia Returns to Faenza for Biennial Ceramics Fair
From September 2 to 4, 2016, Faenza will host the biennial Argillà Italia ceramics market, uniting ceramists, artists, and industry experts. This event, partnered with Aubagne in France and Argentona in Spain, includes the Mondial Tornianti competition and features a large kiln firing in the central square. Approximately twenty collateral exhibitions will be displayed across Faenza's museums, showcasing ceramic traditions, history, contemporary art, and design. At the Museo Internazionale delle Ceramiche (MIC), two significant exhibitions will be on view until November 27: 'Keramiksymposium Gmunden 2015,' curated by Eva Furthbaner, and 'Colori e forme della ceramica coreana,' curated by Kim Dong Jin. The Museo Carlo Zauli will highlight Japanese ceramist Shozo Michikawa with a workshop and 'Twisted Sculpture' performance. MIC will also host conferences featuring speakers like Marco Tonelli and others.
