Arcual's Digital Platform Gains Traction Among Gallerists Ahead of Art Basel

Arcual, a blockchain-based platform backed by LUMA Foundation, MCH Group, and BCG X, is introducing digital solutions to streamline international art transactions. Gallerists Nathalie Obadia, Sabrina Amrani, and Stefan von Bartha have consigned works through its Salesroom application, highlighting benefits like multi-currency support and transparency. Obadia notes the system's ability to navigate complex financial regulations and droit de suite laws, while Amrani sees it appealing to digital-native collectors. Von Bartha emphasizes how Arcual allows artists to track sales, addressing long-standing opacity in the art market. The platform will host events at Zurich Art Weekend from June 9–11 and Art Basel in Basel from June 15–18, featuring discussions and a new artwork showcasing its Certificate of Authenticity feature. This innovation aims to reshape global art commerce by enhancing verification and trust among artists, galleries, and collectors.
