Arcipelago: Six Artists Transform MAG Museum in Riva del Garda

The fourth edition of Der Blitz, titled Arcipelago, opened at the MAG museum in Riva del Garda, running until November 6, 2016. Curated by Denis Isaia and Federico Mazzonelli, the project invited six artists to engage with the Alto Garda territory and reinterpret the museum's spaces, including its art gallery, archaeological section, and historical section. Artists David Aron Angeli, Mario Airò, Joys, Alessandro Moroni, Anna Scalfi Eghenter, and Federico Tosi created site-specific works that dialogue with the museum's collections. Angeli's wax sculptures and ink drawings at the entrance mirror the floor's concave forms. Airò's 'Arcobaleno di Tuva' projects a rainbow through an optical prism in the tower's former prison. Joys contributed permanent abstract murals to the bookshop. Moroni's geometric frieze on the internal balcony recalls lost decorations using Pantone 2015 colors. Scalfi Eghenter placed a metal flag without nationality on the tower terrace and performed bubble-making. Tosi's 'No host in da house' inserts contemporary party debris into the archaeological section, blurring past and future.
