Architecture for London and Hamish Vincent Design collaborate on Neo Georgian home in Islington

architecture-design · 2026-04-19

In London's Canonbury Conservation Area, Architecture for London teamed up with Hamish Vincent Design on a residential project located on St Paul's Road in Islington, United Kingdom. This Neo Georgian residence is part of a terrace comprising nine houses rebuilt after the war. For the second time, principal designer Hamish Vincent Design collaborated with Architecture for London on this client project. The client, in search of their ideal home in Islington, was attracted to Georgian architecture but desired an open-plan design. A typical listed townhouse in Islington would impose considerable limitations on such a layout. However, this non-listed property, featuring a Georgian townhouse façade, provided an ideal solution. The firms' synergy promised a remarkable home, with project photos captured by Leighton James and curation by Hadir Al Koshta.
