Architect Paolo Soleri's daughter reveals childhood sexual abuse

Daniela Soleri, daughter of the late architect Paolo Soleri, has publicly accused her father of sexually molesting her as a child and attempting rape when she was 17. In a blog post on Medium, she broke decades of silence, citing her father's intellectual authority and creative legacy as reasons she stayed quiet. She noted that the #MeToo movement, sparked by the Weinstein case and amplified by actress Asia Argento, gave her courage. Soleri, now an environmental studies researcher at the University of California, Santa Barbara, had previously resigned from the Cosanti Foundation, founded by her father in 1961, detailing the abuse in her resignation letter. She described a board member's response as disappointment that the matter was brought up rather than silenced. Paolo Soleri (1919–2013) was a renowned architect, sculptor, and theorist, a student of Frank Lloyd Wright, and founder of Arcosanti in Arizona, an experimental town built on his arcology principles blending architecture and ecology.
