Archermit's Feixue Pavilion in Luzhou Features Pear-Petal Roof Pools

In Pear Blossom Village, Luzhou, China, Archermit has finalized the Feixue Pavilion, designed as a nature education center for families and children. The structure features five rounded concrete roofs resembling overlapping pear petals, each hosting shallow pools that mirror the trees and sky around them. Central to the design is an existing pear tree, its branches arching above the entrance, with its reflection visible in the water. Spanning 672 square meters across two stories, the building utilizes gaps in the petal slabs for natural light, while interior illumination highlights the roof at night. The roof design incorporates local water-storage practices, with flat green tiles on waterproofed concrete, creating small waterfalls during rainfall. Hand-chiseled walls in the courtyard contrast with sleek railings, timber doors, and glass walls. Curved walls and circular openings enhance spatial depth, connecting the reception area to craft spaces. The pavilion hosts workshops on various topics, including seeds, leaf veins, and woodenware. Completed in 2025, this initiative is part of a rural revitalization strategy, attracting weekend visitors from nearby cities and offering local residents new roles in the educational program.
